FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE RULES
The Impact Fund has a limited pool of funds to assist with hotel and travel costs for Institute attendees employed by nonprofit and legal services organizations. If you are a private firm or government employee, you do not qualify for financial assistance.
We generally provide financial assistance on a first-come, first-served basis, according to the order in which Financial Assistance Estimate Forms are received, with priority given to staff of California Qualified Legal Services Projects. Impact Fund retains ultimate discretion to distribute available funds equitably.
Please review the Training Institute Important Dates and Deadlines below for key information about registration, financial assistance, and reimbursement deadlines!
The Impact Fund provides the following financial assistance:
Hotel: We will provide you with a hotel room for up to 3 nights at a hotel within walking distance of the Institute. Please do not book your own hotel room if you are requesting financial assistance.
Flight: We will reimburse air travel at the lowest refundable available round-trip coach fare, up to a maximum of $750. Please be certain to purchase the most affordable refundable flight.
Mileage & Tolls: If you are driving more than 15 miles to attend the Institute, we will reimburse mileage to and from the Institute at a rate of $72.5 cents per mile and any required tolls.
Parking: If you are driving more than 15 miles and staying at a designated hotel, we will reimburse hotel parking for up to 3 days.
We do not provide financial assistance for the following expenditures:
Training Institute registration fees;
Airline baggage fees;
Airline reservation change fees;
Airport parking;
Ground transportation to/from the airport;
Car rental;
Ground transportation during the Institute;
Hotel amenity fees (including wi-fi); or
Food and drink outside of Institute events.
