2026 Summer Law Internship at the Impact Fund

About the Impact Fund: The Impact Fund is a civil rights legal nonprofit committed to using class action and other impact litigation to achieve economic, environmental, racial, and social justice.  We strive to do this through (1) litigation, (2) attorney training, and (3) legal grant-making. We pursue a diverse litigation docket of civil rights impact cases, serving as lead counsel, co-counsel, and amicus counsel in select class action and impact litigation. We also provide strategic leadership, training, and expertise on issues that arise in impact litigation. Finally, we provide grants supporting impact litigation in civil rights, human rights, environmental justice, and poverty law. The Impact Fund is based in Berkeley, California. More information can be found at www.impactfund.org.

Responsibilities: The Impact Fund is accepting applications for a summer law intern to support our litigation program for the summer of 2026. The law intern will work on our ongoing litigation and amicus efforts, as well as other case work. Responsibilities will include conducting legal research, investigating factual issues, writing legal memos, and other activities as they emerge. We include the summer law intern in legal team meetings and most co-counsel meetings and discussions, so that they learn about developing litigation strategies in high-impact civil rights cases. They are also invited to join attorney trainings offered during the summer. The internship is a full-time (40 hours per week) hybrid remote/in-person position (two in-person office days required per week), and typically requires a 10-week commitment. The law intern will be paid on an hourly basis, approximately $19.18/hour.
