This is a time of incredible opportunity for The Impact Fund.

As you may know, The Impact Fund is currently the lead counsel in two high-impact class action cases, Dukes v. Wal-Mart and Ellis v. Costco Wholesale Corporation.

What you may not know is that the entire legal team at The Impact Fund is composed of only four individuals — Brad Seligman, Jocelyn Larkin, one paralegal, and one law fellow. In addition to our legal cases, The Impact Fund continues to conduct legal trainings, distribute grants, and manage two nationwide media campaigns. As you can imagine, the heavy litigation and administrative demands of these two cases, compacted with our existing programs, have placed a heavy burden on our staff and resources.

We need your help! Please consider making a donation to The Impact Fund during this time of incredible opportunity. Your support makes the difference.

Planned Gifts (bequests, insurance policy, trusts)
Your planned or future gift integrates your generosity with your overall financial, tax and estate planning goals to maximize benefits to both you and The Impact Fund. Planned gifts typically come from a donor's assets rather than income – some types of gifts include:

  • Wills or Bequests
  • Trusts
  • Life Insurance
  • Mutual Funds

A trusted legal or financial advisor can help you develop a plan for making charitable planned gifts that compliment your current investment and estate plans. Please consult your own tax or legal advisor prior to making a planned gift to The Impact Fund.

Cy Pres Award
The Impact Fund is an appropriate recipient of Cy Pres awards because we are an established non-profit foundation, with a track record in administering funds, making grants (approved by a Board of Advisors made up of highly respected and diverse public interest attorneys) and preparing yearly reports of our activities. Because of our broad priorities (civil rights, poverty and environmental justice), we can administer funds targeted to support a wide range of activities. Finally, with our low overhead, we can ensure an efficient and cost effective administration of the funds. To obtain more information about cy pres awards, please visit our Litigation Articles.

If you have further questions about the cy pres doctrine or naming The Impact Fund as a cy pres beneficiary, please contact Brad Seligman, Executive Director of The Impact Fund, at bseligman@impactfund.org
