Fellowship Opportunity
The Impact Fund is now accepting applications
for its one-year Equal Justice Litigation fellowship
to begin in September 2008. The Impact Fund is
a public foundation dedicated to providing representation,
technical assistance and funding for complex, public
interest litigation. The Impact Fund's Equal Justice
Litigation Program provides direct litigation support
as co-counsel and amicus counsel in public
interest, class action cases and focuses primarily
on class action litigation to combat race, gender
and disability discrimination in the workplace.
The fellow will work with the Impact Fund legal
staff on on-going gender discrimination litigation
against Wal-Mart and Costco, as well as on other
cases and its amicus docket. The fellow
will be considered a member of the litigation team
and will attend staff and litigation meetings.
The fellow will participate in all aspects of legal
advocacy that may arise, including discovery, depositions,
the writing of legal and amicus briefs
and legal strategy.
Requirements and Application Process
Applicants must have a strong academic record,
excellent research and writing skills and an interest
and demonstrated commitment to public interest
litigation. Applicants must have completed law
school and taken the California Bar Exam by September
2008. Salary is $47,000 per year plus health and
vacation benefits. Interested applicants should

and qualifications for the position (no longer
than two single spaced pages), a resume, and the
