Support the Impact Fund
This is a time of incredible opportunity for the Impact Fund.
As you may know, the Impact Fund is currently the lead counsel in major high-impact class action cases, from nationwide discrimination cases against Wal-Mart and Costco, to racial profiling and disability access cases.
What you may not know is that our entire legal team is composed of only four individuals — Jocelyn Larkin, Brad Seligman, one paralegal, and one law fellow. In addition to our legal cases, the Impact Fund continues to distribute grants, conduct several legal trainings each year, and provide a wide range of support to lawyers and legal organizations across the country with amicus briefs, as well as advice and counseling on procedural, trial, settlement, attorneys fees, and related issues that arise in large scale public interest litigation.
As you can imagine, the heavy litigation and administrative demands of these cases, combined with our existing programs, have placed a heavy burden on our staff and resources.
We need your help! Please consider making a donation to the Impact Fund during this time of exciting opportunity. Donations to the Impact Fund help accelerate our mission to enhance the ability of lawyers to bring public interest impact litigation in the areas of civil rights, poverty and environmental justice.

Planned gifts (bequests, insurance policy, trusts)
Your planned or future gift integrates your generosity with your overall financial, tax and estate planning goals to maximize benefits to both you and the Impact Fund. Planned gifts typically come from a donor's assets rather than income – some types of gifts include:
- Wills or Bequests;
- Trusts;
- Life Insurance; and
- Mutual Funds
A trusted legal or financial advisor can help you develop a plan for making charitable planned gifts that compliment your current investment and estate plans. Please consult your own tax or legal advisor prior to making a planned gift to the Impact Fund.

Cy Pres Award
Learn about Cy Pres
The Impact Fund is an appropriate recipient of cy pres awards because we are an established nonprofit foundation, with a track record of administering funds, making grants (approved by a Board of Advisors composed of highly respected and diverse public interest attorneys), and preparing yearly reports of our activities. Because of our broad priorities (civil rights, poverty, and environmental justice), we can administer funds targeted to support a wide range of activities. Finally, with our low overhead, we can ensure an efficient and cost effective administration of the funds. To obtain more information about cy pres awards, please visit our Class Action Resource Center.
If you have further questions about the cy pres doctrine or naming the Impact Fund as a cy pres beneficiary, please contact Jocelyn D. Larkin, Executive Director of the Impact Fund, at jlarkin@impactfund.org
If you have any questions, feel free to call Leila Mirzai at 510-845-3473 ext. 302, or send an e-mail to lmirzai@impactfund.org. We appreciate your time, support, and effort. Thank you!
